Suffering On Top Of Foot

Surgery Surgery may be needed for some patients, typically those who have disabling heel pain that does not respond to other treatments for at least a year. A typical surgery is called instep plantar fasciotomy. It relieves pressure on the nerves that are causing pain by removing and therefore releasing part of the plantar fascia. A less invasive method uses a procedure called endoscopy, which requires smaller incisions. Wearing a below-the-knee walking cast after surgery for 2 weeks may reduce the need for pain relief and speed recovery time compared to the use of crutches.

The pain can start from toes, forefoot or hind foot. The reason why pain can begin at the toes is mostly because of shoes that do not fit you properly. Shoes that do not fit properly are a regular cause of pain. High heeled shoes especially concentrate pressure on the toes and can cause or aggravate toe problems. In some cases people who experience this kind of pain could be as a result of medical conditions that cause disturbance in the way a person walks. Such conditions include diabetes, leg or foot deformities, spinal problems, cerebral palsy among others.

Another cause of Ball of Foot Pain is over-pronation. Over-pronation (or excess pronation) occurs in a lot of people, especially as they get older. The arches drop and feet and ankles tend to roll inwards. Excessive pronation is a major contributing cause to heel pain and heel spurs, but it also can lead to Metatarsalgia. As the longitidunal arch collapses so does the transverse arch. The transverse arch is the arch that runs across the forefoot and is formed by the 5 metatarsal bones. The bones in the foot drop and the structure of the foot is severely weakened. footpain

The plantar fascia supports the bones of the heels and maintains the arch of the heel. The Hallux Valgus is a bony projection that leads away from the plantar fascia into the surrounding tissues of the body. More often than not, heel spurs and plantar fasciitis together cause sharp pain in the foot. The severe foot pain experienced by you, when you put your weight on your foot, while taking first step, is because of the heel spur poking into the surrounding living mass of tissues, nerves, tendons and muscles. Your doctor may advise you to take an X-ray of the feet to detect the heel spur.

One of the most important factors of plantar fasciitis is tight calf muscles. Therefore some calf stretching exercises are really important. The best exercise could be, standing facing a wall with the help of your hands on the wall at about your eye level and then put one leg almost a step behind your other leg, keep your back heel flat on the floor. Ensure that this leg remains straight at all times, after that bend the knee of the front leg slowly, lowering your body unless you feel the stretch in the calf of the back leg.

There are also many running and sports shoes on the market and quite often people choose the wrong style for their foot type. It is always a good idea to get your shoes fitted correctly and most professional sports stores are able to do this for you. A more serious cause of side of foot pain can be arthritis or even diabetes. There are also infections that can cause side of food pain such as Septic arthritis, osteomyelitis or cellulitis. This is why you should seek medical attention if your pain gets significantly worse doesn't go away.

A human foot is a complex formation of 26 bones. Generally the feet are the basis of mainly all physical movements and activities. When a person suffers from foot pain , it maybe a sign that there is could be wrong with any of the inside structure of the foot or with the condition of the foot as it interacts to outside factors, like shoes and walking grounds. On the other hand an injury to the bones and joints of the foot can also be factors that caused this kind of pain. Commonly slight foot pain can react to simple home medication causing pain to drop.
